"A Wine-Tasting Bar Creation" “A Wine Tasting to Remember” Holidays are a great time to gather a few girlfriends and share life together. But, on any given day you can create a festive gathering to entertain and serve from your home. I adore sharing life with my girlfriends, giving gifts and breaking bread together. Over the years I have hosted gatherings called “Intimate Girlfriend Gatherings”. When creating these events, keep in mind, it is not a dinner-party where you show off your cooking skills, this is wine-themed gathering. I will show you how to create a beautiful wine bar for your guests. You do not have to purchase a stationary bar or wine barrel for your event. This Gathering is for you to offer fun, food and a relaxed way to also learn about your favorite wines. Creating A Wine-Bar for a Gathering Pick a Theme & Place to display Your Wine Bar I used my dining room table for my event. My theme was an “Intimate Girlfriend Wine/Gift Gathering”. Each guest brought a dish and their favorite wine. Make sure you have the serving wear to complement your wine bar. Present wine glasses with or without party glass charms. Different wine glasses allow your wine bar to have a decor appearance of your style. I use my brand logo glasses often. Pick out fun slogan napkins to spark up laughter. Keep a pitcher of water near your wines to keep the pallet clear for mini wine tasting moments. Choose Your Wines to Share (Bar Area) Add a wine-station for easy excess to present your wines and the added guest wines. This will start up a conversation of what and why you all drink the wines you adore. Put out at least 2 different wines, i.e., a white sweet Chardonnay & a red dry Merlot. Fun Activity Choose what you and your guest will do as you gather. I choose an open-table conversation followed by gifts given show and tell. On other gatherings here at my home, we have watched a girly love story movie, read parts out of my authored pray book, and made mini-vision boards to celebrate life. For background music, create a playlist of music to match your event. I played jazz holiday music that allowed a few girlfriends to sing outload, what joy? Good Eats I adore cooking a great feast, but for this wine-bar occasion finger foods are great! I am known for my charcutier boards. The build and assembly of meats, cheeses, veggies and fruits can be an added accent to your gathering. It is an easy way to allow your guest to help themselves and you enjoy your time with them out of the kitchen. I will write more about charcutier boards in another article. One of my favorite things to do year-round is to gather with my girlfriends. Creating a quick meal and drinks for your event can be a fun task. The wine-bar is just another way to dress up a space in your home to entertain. Wine-Bars & Charcutier-Boards allows you to show off your skills of decorating and allow everyone to serve themselves.
